Lovely little washer with a straight body moulded with a row of circular studs beneath a protruding rim, the base with a four character Qianlong mark in underglaze blue, all under an even celadon glaze.
Celadon ware is a type of Chinese functional pottery that was produced during the Qing dynasty (1644-1912). It is known for its distinctive green, translucent colour, which is achieved through a glazing process using iron oxide. This was a functional object used by scholar-officials as a brush washer.
